Structure design of multi-functional flexible electrocardiogram electrodes based on PEDOT:PSS-coated fabrics

Herein, Polyester woven fabrics as the matrices for experimental group, while cotton knitted fabrics, and Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) mesh cloth used control groups, at 40 °e, using 3,4-ethoxylene dioxy thiophene (EDOT)as polymer monomer, FeCl 3 oxidant, poly(sodium-p-styrenesulfonate) (PSS) dopant, are separately coated with PEDOT:PSS to prepare flexible conductive composite fabrics. The influences of fabric pattern, oxidant concentration, monomer concentration on electrical performance optimized. maximal conductivity PET-based (218 S/m) occurs when is 0.035 mol/L, molar ratio 2.5, dopant 2.5 g/L. Moreover, bacteriostasis rate this reaches 71.8%. Furthermore, by electrocardiogram (ECG) simulated human body unit test well ECG test, optimal electrode both has a lower impedance which helps form stabilized signal. resulting electrodes retain soft breathable advantages from reduce discomfort long-term use conventional electrographic gel, thereby validating empirical evidence mobile, portable, wearable electrodes.
